(Hair Transplant) Follicular Hair Grafting
Overview
Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that removes hair follicle from one part of the body /scalp, called the donor site, to a bald area known as recipient site. This technique is primarily used to treat male pattern baldness. In this minimally invasive procedure, grafts containing hair follicles that are genetically resistant to balding, are transplanted to bald scalp. Hair transplantation is used to restore eyelashes and eyebrows and beard hair. Hair transplantaion procedure is done by two methods. FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) and FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction).
Procedure
Under local anesthesia, the donor grafts are removed by strip method or FUE method. Under microscope these hairs are separated into 1,2,3, hairs. Fine needles are used to puncture the sites for receiving grafts and these hairs are placed in them. This is done in predetermined density and pattern. The donor areas are closed in a way that gives you a very fine scars.
