Acne Scar Treatment

Acne scar is very common problem. Acne scar varieties are box scars, ice-pick scars, rolling scars, hyperpigmented scars. Each scar is treated in different way, hence a combination of treatment is usually required.

Ice-pick scars may require scar excision with punch technique and suturing. It may also require radio frequency revisions.

Box scars require energy based skin resurfacing with laser. Radio frequency or ultra sound devices may help treat box scar. They all work in creating new collagen beneath the surface of the skin. A series of treatment is generally needed, based on extent of scarring. Chemical peels can also help but to a lesser extent. Fillers like bella filler can fill up the scars and raise them.

Rolling scars can be treated with micro needling and Platelet-rich Plasma (P.R.P). Micro fat injections also improve rolling scar significantly.

Hyper pigmented scar responds well with hydroquinone creams and sunblocks. Other potential treatment include glycocolic products which remove the uppermost layer of the skin and the dark marks. If the peels dont do the job, lasers are usually needed.
